Gravestone Sculpture Years ago a friend of mine took the picture above of a gravestone near Zurich, Switzerland. I believe it is in Sihlfeld Friedhof which is in a suburb of Zurich. The name on the stone is Walter Schibli 1913-1970. G. Pepe of Weiningen was the mason.
I have always been intrigued by what the artist was trying to say with this piece of work so I wanted to post it online to share. Is he reaching out of the grave or trying to hang on? |
